Our Mission

Ancient Lakes Dance Festival was founded by two young professional dancers, Chloe Brown and Luchian Munteanu. It is the world’s first dance festival operated and owned by youths from the ages of 17-23, artists just breaking in to the professional field. Our goal is to create the dance space we wish to see in the world- one of inclusivity, compassion, and expression. We take pride in providing artists the opportunity to collaborate and explore freely, and show their work in residency at one of the most beautiful places in the world. The festival will feature 8 new works, choreographed and danced by young professional artists. The performance will be approximately 90 minutes long, including intermission.

The Covid-19 pandemic has shaken the performing arts world. It has made performing to a live audience, in front of a packed house, an idea of the past. But Ancient Lakes Dance Festival was created amidst the pandemic, and developed to show the world how dance performance can be still be done, even under new special circumstances. We believe the arts are vitally important, now more than ever. Ancient Lakes Dance Festival is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the future of live dance performance.
